My neighbor has created hundreds of men’s neckties from discarded fabric he salvaged from people’s trash.
Each necktie had its own story to tell.

Bill’s daily routine was comprised of collecting pajamas, hand towels, mattress ticking, bathrobes, upholstery, and discarded shirts from his neighbors trash. For over two decades, he diligently sewed neckties, accumulating a substantial collection that he freely offered to anyone he encountered.

These neckties, each meticulously crafted from repurposed fabric, were designed for wear. Regrettably, Bill has passed away, but his collection of recycled neckwear continues to inspire and delight.

Bill found beauty in transforming discarded items into valuable resources.

A neighbor just shared a funny story about how she used to peek out her window and see an elderly man cutting fabric from an old mattress they’d tossed out. She’d always been curious about what he was up to!

Bill loved diversty and was open
to using any fabric he could find
to add style to his neckties.
